Identity Theft is Britain 's fastest growing crime and rarely out of the headlines. In 2005 almost 140,000 incidents were recorded costing the UK economy in excess of £1.7 Billion.
At present the police lack the infrastructure to deal with this deepening and serious threat to personal security with few victims of Identity Theft knowing how to solve the problem and less than 1% of Identity Theft cases being investigated.
